Hundred Dollar Hamburger

The term "Hundred Dollar Hamburger" is used in aviation to describe a trip where a pilot flies a short distance, eats at a restaurant near the runway, and then flies back home. The name comes from the cost of flying round-trip, which at the time was around $100. I’m sure with airport gas prices it’s not even close to that now 😅

When our restaurant first opened at Scottsdale Airport, we were not familiar with the term and made jokes about it. We thought it referred to a hamburger that was so good it was worth $100. However, we later learned from the Scottsdale Airport staff about it’s true meaning. Years later, our head chef, Pedro Loza, came up with the idea of creating a special dish inspired by the "Hundred Dollar Hamburger."

After considering various ideas, we settled on a combination of our original Zulu Burger, our favorite champagne Veuve Clicquot, caviar, cream fresh, and fresh-cut potato chips. It's a unique and decadent pairing that represents our understanding our ties to the aviation world and our commitment to offering exceptional dining experiences!
